Volunteer of the Month October 2025

Congratulations to Cheryl Richard for being named Volunteer of the Month! Cheryl completed her training in September 2022 and accepted her first case in October 2022. She embodies compassion, dedication, and kindness. Over the past three years as an advocate, Cheryl has worked on a total of three cases and served as the CASA advocate for five children.

I have witnessed Cheryl work tirelessly to ensure that the needs of her CASA children are met. There were times when the parents were reluctant to engage with their case plans, refused to communicate with CASA and DCFS, and expressed anger towards the system. Despite these challenges, Cheryl never gave up! She recognized the importance of advocating for and collaborating with her CASA children's parents to achieve reunification successfully. Throughout her cases, Cheryl has demonstrated unwavering commitment and heartfelt dedication to the families she has served.

Cheryl, thank you for creating a safe and nurturing environment for your CASA children and their families. Your kindness has made a lasting positive impact on all those you have worked with.
