2024 Annual Report
Letter from our Chair
Kathy Persac
Dear Friends and Supporters,
As we close another impactful year, I am filled with awe and gratitude for the unwavering support and dedication shown by our community of staff, volunteers and supporters. Together, we have continued to be a source of hope and stability for children navigating the foster care system—children who deserve safety, love, and a voice.
This year, 184 incredible CASA volunteers stood up for 317 children, working to find them safe, permanent, and nurturing homes. These volunteers gave over 5,800 hours of their time—time spent listening, advocating, and walking alongside children through some of their most difficult moments. Their commitment is the heartbeat of our mission, and their impact is immeasurable.
We also celebrated several exciting milestones and achievements:
-
We successfully passed the Juror Per Diem bill, a legislative win that strengthens support for our volunteers and the families they serve allowing you to donate your daily per diem for serving as a juror straight to CASA.
-
Tony Pryer, our long time advocate supervisor was honored with the Savannah Banana award—a fun and well-deserved recognition of his energy and spirit!
-
Two staff supervisors, Ricketta Cotton-Monroe and Susan Murrell marked 22 and 20 years of service with CASA, respectively. Their dedication over the decades has shaped our organization and inspired countless others.
These moments remind us that our work is not only about advocacy—it’s about building a community of compassion, resilience, and joy.
