Wendy Kelly Hired as Training Coordinator

BATON ROUGE, La. – Wendy Kelly has been hired as CASA’s new Training Coordinator. Kelly brings over 20 years of training development and facilitation in the nonprofit sector. Her diverse background and progressive thinking have led her to work with various programs across the United States in areas of case management, counseling, marketing, public health education, strategic planning, fundraising, and training. Most recently, Kelly served as CEO of Community Consulting working across multiple states. In this role, she provided guidance and support to public health and social service programs, as well as individuals for program navigation and systems improvement. 

“Working with children has always been a priority for me – this work keeps life in perspective. I look forward to bringing out the best in our volunteers and having them successfully complete the process to serve children of East Baton Rouge Parish," Kelly noted. 

As Training Coordinator, Kelly will be responsible for tracking, screening, and training CASA volunteer advocates.  

CASA stands for Court Appointed Special Advocate. Capital Area CASA Association volunteers serve as a voice for abused and neglected children in court. The mission of Capital Area CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate) Association is to advocate for timely placement of abused and neglected children in permanent, safe, and stable homes.
