  Orientation
After attending a 45-minute orientation session to determine if you are interested in becoming a CASA volunteer, you may submit an application. Click here for orientation dates. Applicants are thoroughly screened through a personal interview with program staff, background clearances and personal references.  After completing the screening process, applicants must complete the 32-hour pre-service training course for CASA volunteer advocates.

Through the course CASA volunteers learn about courtroom procedure, the child protection and legal systems, child abuse issues and advocacy skills.  Training material is based on the National CASA Association training curriculum.  Speakers include CASA staff as well as local foster care professionals.
